Dental Benefits

Dental Services are provided to all MedStar Family Choice members by the Maryland Healthy Smiles Dental Program which covers a wide range of dental services. There are no premiums, deductibles, or copays for covered services. There is no maximum benefit amount each year. Members should never pay for covered services out of pocket.

• X-rays
• Fillings
• Root canals
• Crowns
• Pulling teeth - extractions
• Anesthesia

Other Covered Services for Children Under 21 Years Old

• Sealants
• Orthodontics
• Fluoride varnish

You will receive a member handbook and second ID card from Scion dental.  The member ID card will have a dental home on it. A dental home is the dentist you can see. But you can see any dentist that takes Maryland Healthy Smiles.

Vision Benefits

Routine vision care is available to all MedStar Family Choice members. The vision benefits include an eye exam and new glasses each year. Contact lenses are only covered for certain conditions.
