Click here for more information about COVID-19.

As the COVID public health emergency comes to an end on July 1, 2023, MedStar Family Choice will be applying the following:

1. COVID treatment, vaccines, and testing will no longer be reimbursed if it occurs with an out-of-network provider unless there is an authorization. COVID treatment, vaccines, and testing will continue to be available for all MedStar Family Choice members if received within our provider network.

2. The emergency prescription overrides timeframe will decrease from 14 days back to the normal 3 days for emergency overrides needed on the weekends or holidays.

Children’s vaccines during COVID-19

Keeping your children up to date on their vaccines is important, even during this current health crisis. Vaccines will protect your children from other serious illnesses. Please reach out to your children’s primary care providers to schedule appointments for any missing vaccines.

Select a Primary Care Provider (doctor)

After you or your grown “child” turns 18, you may want to find a new primary care provider (doctor) to replace your pediatrician. They could choose a family practice or internal medicine doctor. Ask your doctor if you have questions about what type of provider to see. MedStar Family Choice can also help find a new adult doctor in your area.
